Research interests: pathogenesis of infectious diseases of known and unknown etiology specifically AIDS, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, hepatitis, encephalitis, and Kawasaki disease. In our laboratory we study host-pathogen interaction(s) at cell and molecular level employing various techniques such as hemagglutination assay, plaque reduction neutralization test, virus culture and isolation assays, oxidative stress related assays, neuronal functional assays, microarray, real-time PCR, siRNA and bioinformatics.
