Research interests: 2nd year Medical Student John A. Burns School of Medicine (expected graduation 2009) Received Master of Public Health Degree with emphasis on Chronic Disease Epidemiology from Yale University 2003. Worked as an Associated Schools of Public Health Fellow in Behavioral Surveillance Branch at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, GA, then worked as the State Support Epidemiologist for the Pacific Western States assisting with the BRFSS survey in the Behavioral Surveillance Branch at the CDC. Research interests include gender differences in chronic diseases, cardiovascular disease, obesity, clinical trials, and special populations including Native Hawaiians and Multiracials. Presently, working with the Division of Native Hawaiian Health assisting with the Pili Ohana project (obesity reduction and weight maintenance) and the KEEP (kidney failure registry).
